True internal balance is internal alignment with goodness and well-being; a felt way of love within and toward our world, that we know we are either in, or not.

An important aspect or expression of that internal balance, is managing our physical well being, which requires care and understanding of our body through diet and exercise. Only we, as first person custodians, can truly know this best.

It is our job to avail ourselves of the information and experts out there who can assist in our role as general manager and practitioner of our own body health.

Regarding our physical form, there is an overwhelming amount of scientific evidence supporting this point:

The basis of physical health and wellbeing is a varied and proper diet creating an internally alkaline or PH neutral state.

Foods going in should be at PH between 6.4 and 7, with regular bowel movements of ‘clean’ food going out.

health and wellness products

This internal alkalinity is an inhospitable environment for bacterial growth and prevents and cures those many ailments – from stomach to colon issues, skin to blood to joint and bone disorders – that are rooted in the inflammation that comes with imbalanced PH.

Basically, we allow ourselves to internally rot and mould and give off poisonous gases if we feed the harmful bacteria (especially with sugar and wheat) that feed on improperly digested food from poor diets and improper elimination. Dairy foods exacerbate the problem by producing mucous. These effects create poor quality blood with toxins and little oxygen, preventing the miraculous organs in our bodies from assimilating nutrients properly and impeding function in all areas including the brain. It’s all interconnected …

1. Internal Alkalinity

2. Internal Cleansing

Along with a varied and alkaline diet, avoiding sugar/dairy/wheat, and supplementing with probiotics, internal and external cleansing are great ways of restoring balance.

- Lemon in hot water. I drink this throughout the day, freshly squeezed with slices of ginger. I chew the ginger once it has softened, or save it and add it to a green drink later in the blender.  (I started adding cayenne pepper and sometimes agave following Elle MacPherson’s advice in her ‘Get the Gloss’ wellness site: https://www.getthegloss.com/article/elle-macpherson-does-these-seven-things-every-morning-without-fail)

- ‘Vega’ Green Protein shake (plant based clean vegan protein powder made of pea, hemp, alfalfa and pumpkin in vanilla flavour) with ginger slices, lemon slices (with skin), spinach, kale and 1 or more of these: celery, banana, avocado, parsley, cilantro, sesame seeds, chia seeds, blueberries, raspberries.

- ‘Diatomaceous Earth’The Wonder Powder This is an amazing product made from fossilised algae called diatoms. It is basically pure silica. It acts as an internal digestive cleanser that impales and dries out bacteria. Human Food Grade is the only one that should be chosen for human or animal use. https://happymammoth.co/31-health-benefits-of-diatomaceous-earth/ Many more uses are listed at the end of this article including insecticide, animal use, teeth whitening etc.

I put a heaped tablespoon into ¼ glass of room temperature spring water. I mix it as I walk to allow the fine cloud of powder to stay behind me so as not to inhale. I drink it quickly in 3 or 4 gulps. It tastes like chalky water. It will do an amazing job in clearing out the stomach and colon, returning a bloated or upset stomach to normal, and keeping bacteria away.

3. External Cleansing of skin – See Beauty Products page for more Beauty details

- ‘Vasanti’ Facewash (for nighttime before bed): This is a great micro chrystal wash I use in the sink, especially when I have not recently used the NeoStrata polish (see below) in the shower. I use Vasanti when I want my skin super clean to prepare it for night crème.

- ‘Aapri’ apricot scrub:  http://wwwaapri.co.uk (for face or body exfoliation in shower). This is a great general exfoliant that is inexpensive and effective. It does a great job cleaning my skin and giving it that glow. (I use a strong exfoliating body glove for the rest of me, but Aapri also make a great body version.)

- ‘NeoStrata’ Skin resurfacing Duo (micro chrystal gel with activator for exceptional ‘polishing’ of skin): This is a fantastic product that makes my skin smoother than it has ever been with any other product. It eliminates fine lines and makes my skin look and feel like baby skin. The glow is amazing. I prefer to use it once a week or every two weeks.

4. External Lymphatic Drainage (whole body treatment)

‘Endermologie’ – lymphatic drainage and cellular stimulation. This is an incredible French system that visibly improves the skin circulation and drainage for healthier skin. A machine is connected to a special attachment that is rolled across the body with moving parts to manipulate the tissue deep down.

When in London I highly recommend ‘Beauty and Bloom’ right by Bond Street Station for their excellent professional staff and equipment. Ina the owner and also a technician is highly skilled, knowledgeable and caring.

5. Exercise

- Walking: Daily walking is the best for fresh air, circulation and getting the body moving overall. Dogs make it easier to get out every single day no matter the weather or the mood.

- Frisbee and Sports: Cardio and fun are the best combo. I try to play as often as I can.

- The Gym: Yes, obviously great. Establishing a routine that suits your body is a process you

can discover on your own using the internet or with the help of trainers at the gym.

Overall we know diet and exercise are key for health. This is not news. I do believe each person has unique strengths, challenges and goals which he or she must get to know and engage with – in addition to mental/emotional/spiritual awareness - to be happy and healthy in a well- rounded way.

6. Other Health Product ‘Must-haves’

Tea Tree Oil

a.     ‘Tea Tree Oil’: This is an amazing antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal product from Australia. It can be used as a gargle for sore throat, on cuts and wounds, for yeast infection, athlete’s foot, nail fungus and many other uses. I always have a bottle at home and with me when I travel.

c.   Cold Pressed ‘Castor Oil’: I often use castor oil as a night cream, simply rubbing it into my skin at bedtime. It is great for eyelashes and eyebrow growth. I use an extra pillowcase as it is oily. In the morning my face is smooth and hydrated.

  • Cold pressed from the seeds of the castor oil plant, this product has many health and beauty applications: Anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties (for medicinal use as discussed farther below under ‘Articles’), promotes collagen and elastin, rich in Omega 6 and Omega & essential fatty acids, and promotes hair growth.

Rubbed onto the feet, this wonderful oil even prevents athlete’s foot and stops the start of any infection overnight. Just apply to washed feet, wear flip flops to allow some time for absorption, and then put on thin cotton anklet socks to hold the oil in overnight (or regular cotton socks by day when wearing shoes).

I have recommended this product where it was successfully used in external castor packs (addressing a range of acute internal issues), and for external use on skin and hair. See discussion below under ‘Articles’.

d.  ‘Cold-FX’ ginseng supplementsCOLD-FX is licensed by Health Canada as a Natural Health Product. These fantastic cold and flu pills made entirely of North American ginseng came to national prominence as Canada’s #1 cold and flu medicine when they were promoted by the famous Edmonton Oilers Hockey Team and hockey personality Don Cherry. The International Olympic Committee protocol testing on high performance athletes found that “this natural remedy significantly decreases the incidence of colds and flu; significantly decreases the severity and duration of colds; and significantly strengthens the immune system.”

At the first sign of a cold, I immediately take two. I take one or two more in the afternoon and then again in the evening. Less pills are needed if using the Extra strength version. I rarely develop a cold if I catch it in time with these supplements. These supplements are for all ages and should be in everyone’s cupboard.

supplements and health products

e.  ’Nu-Source Energy’: For times when energy levels are low and you don’t want a caffeine hit, this is a marvellous natural mixture of various international ginsengs (Canadian, Chinese, Indian, Mexican, Japanese, Korean etc.) as well as numerous additional high quality known energy boosters including royal jelly, cayenne and green tea among others. One or two of these natural caplet form supplements do exactly as advertised: increase focus and stamina, strengthen immunity long term and combat stress and fatigue. The most effective, even and reliable energy booster I have ever used.

supplements and health products

f.  (if needed) ‘Wobenzym N’: Wobenzym is an orally administered combination of proteolytic enzymes and bioflavonoid. I mention this product because although it is recommended for joint health and for athletes in particular, it is amazing in helping people with inflammation of all kinds. When faced with digestive issues, inflammation or acute problems and serious ailments such as ulcerative colitis (see ‘Articles’ section), this product is a miracle.

Proteolitic enzymes are crucial in controlling inflammation and boosting immunity. I found this product to be a kind of natural miracle drug. I used the original German-made formula. There are many others out there now, but I know this original formulation (in combination with other supplements and foods discussed in ‘Articles’) worked. Here is an article by Lane Lenard, PhD, Ward Dean, MD and Jim English:

From the internet:  Wobenzym N is a global leader in joint and inflammation health and Wobenzym N is the only systemic enzyme formula backed by decades of clinical research and customer satisfaction. Enzymes are fascinating and essential biological catalysts that are involved in almost every single process in our bodies. Thousands of enzymes drive trillions of chemical reactions every second. They are involved in everything from breathing and blood flow to the transmission of neural impulses to immune system maintenance. Systemic enzymes work holistically - meaning they work throughout the entire body - supporting the body's natural response to inflammation and overall joint health.

8. Articles on specific Ailments (1 of 1)

1.    Ulcerative Colitis

For anyone suffering specifically from ulcerative colitis, I have put together this information based on personal experience to offer hope, information and support.

I am not a doctor and my comments are not meant to replace the advice of a doctor or accredited health care practitioner.

I strongly urge readers to do their own research about the subject on the internet in combination with medical consultation.
The following is meant for informational purposes regarding my family’s experience with ulcerative colitis. It may also be of interest to anyone with irritable bowel syndrome or other intestine/colon/stomach related problems.

Ulcerative Colitis

A) HISTORY

When a 20 year old family member was suddenly in the acute stages of ulcerative colitis, we were desperate. He had collapsed at university, was anemic and had recently lost a lot of weight. An incredibly painful urgent colonoscopy was performed (with no anesthesia) upon hospital admission, revealing his entire colon was inflamed and not functional. He could not form stools only blood, had a red blood cell count far below anything normal, and could barely stand.

We learned he had experienced stomach pain and unusual bowel movements with blood for months prior, but had thought it was a stomach bug. He ate extra fibre, also hot sauce and foods with powerful spices thinking these would kill off and eliminate any bacteria. Of course, this had made things much worse. Within the hectic university environment of tests, late night studying, sports, cafeteria food and parties, he had rather secretly and completely unexpectedly become extremely sick.

Things deteriorated in the hospital. He was given a blood transfusion to raise his red blood cell count amidst fever and inability to digest anything. He continued to lose blood. Eventually he got a ‘superbug’ and was quarantined. It was truly life and death at that point because of his poor condition and now high fever, none of which were responding to medication. He was on anti-biotics (ciprofloxacin and others to kill any infection) and prednisone (to reduce inflammation and suppress his immune system). All of these caused stomach pain and vomiting. As well, he started bloating and getting acne as well documented side effects of prednisone..

By this point he was absurdly white in appearance and had extensively lost muscle tone and fat. His leg skin for example could be pulled away from his body like dog skin, yet he had a distended and bloated belly. His face was swollen and full of spots. His mood was terrible and he had a fever. He had gone from being a buff young ‘A’ student sports guy, to what looked like an emaciated boy.

Well-meaning doctors had advised that surgery to remove the infected colon would be our only hope if the medicines didn’t work. We were urged to review a small book detailing the latest colostomy bag procedure (wherein an external plastic bag is affixed to a hole created next to the belly button to replace the bowel in collecting and eliminating stool), and were told we were on the brink of there being no more choice. A surgeon checked in daily as he prepared for the likely procedure. The head surgeon advised that if this were his son, he would proceed with the surgery.

Throughout this time, I researched Ulcerative Colitis (UC) intensely. I read blogs from other desperate people – mostly teenagers and young people desperately learning about this condition that usually affects older people and has no known real cause nor cure. I read about what they had tried, what had failed and what they were going through physically and psychologically. It was horrible.

B) QUESTIONS

I had a few questions:

a) Since the intestines and colon deal with food assimilation, why did doctors not consider the diet of the patient leading up to (and during) the UC, as relevant?

They said diet played no role, and was not a factor that might have caused the UC. It wasn’t relevant that he had eaten a decadent, and at the same time poor student diet (amidst high stress levels and poor sleep) for months at uni.

In hospital, they continued to serve him such items on the approved hospital menu as coffee, bread and egg.

-      Coffee is a stimulant and diuretic people use to get their bowels moving in the morning – good for a completely inflamed bowel?

-      Bread (gluten, wheat) is for many intolerable – yet completely safe for a patient with acute UC?

-      Egg is a protein and not the easiest to digest for someone having digestive issues, yet healthy for UC patients?

b) If doctors didn’t know if UC was caused by bacterial infection or a hereditary auto-immune abnormality (where the body mistakenly attacks itself when digesting food) causing an immune response, then how could anything be ruled out?

            - Perhaps diet and lifestyle before UC were key?

            - Perhaps diet during UC was key in helping it heal?

 c) Why was it not an option to boost the immune system in a drastic way? Why were the only treatment options:

- surgery to remove the inflamed organ, or

- medication to kill infection, or

- medication to shut down the body’s natural immune response?

What about the body’s ability to heal itself – wasn’t there a way to support re-balancing that didn’t involve destroying or removing?

 It just didn’t make sense.

Since the medicines had not worked and since the surgery would create a lifelong functional and aesthetic handicap, it made sense to

-      offer foods that would heal and not irritate an already inflamed bowel

-      offer foods to strengthen not shut down the body’s immune system

-      offer supplements for both of the above

Researching extensively on the internet and using advice from ulcerative colitis survivors, here is the initial basically liquid in-hospital diet that I put together to replace hospital food. This helped stabilize him while he initially continued taking the prednisone and anti-biotic. We stopped the hospital bread, coffee, egg and other foods completely.

C) ACUTE PHASE LIQUID DIET

Starter Diet

Morning

9 am

Freshly squeezed organic Juice: always peeled apple, celery / grape, celery / lettuce, apple, grape or celery

Afternoon

12 pm (and throughout day)

Fruit pieces: banana / date / melon  / apple / pear

 3 pm

Fruit puree or pieces: apples / pears / baby food fruits

Evening

6 pm

Vegetables: mashed potato / yam / sweet potato / carrot / (chicken broth); or

Soy cheese w. rice cracker and lettuce

9 pm

Cereal: rice milk w. ‘Rice Crispies’ or ‘Chex’ cereal

The excitement and joy when there was that first small piece of normally formed stool, still brings tears to my eyes! Yes, we rejoiced over some poop! After weeks of blood, fever, a looming surgery and fighting off a hospital superbug, this was proof that the body can recover.

D) ALKALINE DIET

Basically, for everyone - and specifically those suffering from health issues - diet change is key to bringing the body system back to a level of being alkaline. That way, normal and not diseased or compromised function and energy levels can return.

From the internet: "The internal environment of our bodies is maintained at a pH of just about 7.0. This means our internal environment is alkaline. Maintenance of this state is a dynamic, not static, process mediated moment to moment by numerous reactions that produce acid products. Our internal chemical equilibrium is primarily controlled by our lungs, kidneys, intestines, and skin. For necessary reactions and functions to occur, our body must maintain a proper pH. Adequate alkaline reserves are necessary for optimal pH adjustment. The body needs oxygen, water, and acid-buffering minerals to accomplish the pH buffering, while also briskly eliminating waste products.

The Importance of an Alkaline Diet – written by R. Jaffe and P Donovan- Your Health- A Professional User’s Guide, Sterling, VA, Health Studies Collegium, 1993

http://americannutritionassociation.org/importance-alkaline-diet-jaffe-donovan-alkaline-acid-food-chart

There are many hormones, pesticides and other chemicals added to crops and foods in Canada and the United States. Best to stay away from

-wheat in particular, grains in general (unless organic and from another country that does not allow pesticides etc.),

- dairy (unless organic and in moderation only once things are under control), and

- all sugar (except some of the low glycemic ones later, only after recovery…

E) SUPPLEMENTS & READING

a. Proteolytic enzymes

There are supplements – proteolytic enzymes – that help with the breakdown of food in your system, that you can take to drastically help your body.

See article entitled ‘Enzyme Therapy for Cancer and Digestive by Dr. Sircus http://drsircus.com/medicine/enzyme-therapy-for-cancer-and-digestive-diseases/

We used ‘Wobenzyme N’ brand enzymes both during the acute and chronic phases of ulcerative colitis. This proved to be a miracle cure for my family. These enzymes can be purchased at most health food stores.

There is an excellent book called Prescription for Nutritional Healing (see above Recommended Books section) that gives explanation and advice regarding just about every ailment you can think of. The book was originally co-written by Doctor Balch M.D. and his Nutritional Consultant wife, Balch N.C.  The book offers the best of medical knowledge combined with nutritional advice and supplementation suggestions. I view this book as a must-have for healing oneself using the philosophy of understanding and relying on the body’s own wisdom and learning which foods and supplements help the body do its job.

The newer versions of this book no longer credit co-writer Doctor Balch M.D. on the cover, suggesting this couple split and the Nutritional Consultant wife continued with the work on her own.

Here is the List of Supplements he took for months for his ulcerative colitis. He was still taking these at the time he was well on his way to full recovery, and we went to see Alternative Medical Practitioner Dr. Nowazek.

I recommend Dr. Nowazek of Edmonton, Alberta Canada with Green Apple Health at 780.485.9634 (trained as both a medical doctor and alternative medicine practitioner) as he has extensive experience and a high success rate with ulcerative colitis patients in particular. He was very knowledgeable and supportive. He is not covered by Health Care, so meetings and supplements become costly. I believe it was worth any monies spent, even just for the professional encouragement.

Natural Herbs That Reduce Inflammation in Ulcerative Colitis

Nov 11, 2010 | By Robyn Hughes

Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease characterized by bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, unintended weight loss and fever. People with ulcerative colitis may also experience fissures, haemorrhoids or fistulas. Anti-inflammatory herbs may be helpful for ulcerative colitis when they are part of a personalized and well-rounded treatment plan. Before taking herbs, consult a health-care provider for proper diagnosis and advice on herbal combinations, forms, dosage and safety.

Quercetin

Quercetin is a plant flavonoid with notable anti-inflammatory effects. According to Drs. Alex Vasquez and Michael Murray, naturopathic physicians and contributors to the "Textbook of Natural Medicine," quercetin can be particularly useful for inflammatory bowel disease. Quercetin works by interacting with various enzyme systems in the body. It is particularly active with the immune system, where it regulates numerous inflammatory processes. Quercetin is also an antioxidant -- a substance that neutralizes damage-causing free radicals. Quercetin is found in fruits and vegetables, especially apples, citrus fruits, grapes, berries, onions and parsley. Herbs that contain quercetin include bilberry, ginkgo and green tea. Quercetin is also available as an encapsulated supplement.

Marshmallow

Marshmallow, also known by its Latin name Althea officinalis, is a Malvaceae family herb. The marshmallow plant is completely different than the puffed white candy used in hot chocolate, smores and baked goods. Marshmallow grows in parts of Europe, Asia and North America. The leaves and stem are soft and velvety, and the flowers are reddish-white. The root is used to make medicine, and it has a slightly sweet taste. Marshmallow has a long history of medical use for inflammatory conditions. It's helpful for inflammation of the respiratory tract, urinary tract and gastrointestinal tract -- the latter of which applies to ulcerative colitis. Marshmallow root contains polysaccharides, mucilage, starch, pectin, saccharose, flavonoids, phenolic acids and coumarins. The mucilage forms a slick gel that coats mucous membranes are reduces irritation. Marshmallow may be prepared as a decoction, liquid extract, tincture or capsule.

 Geranium

Geranium maculatum is an astringent and drying herb. The root and aerial parts are used medicinally to treat overly-relaxed tissues in the gastrointestinal tract and veins. It treats ulcers, stomach inflammation, blood in the urine and diarrhea. Geranium is especially useful for ulcers and gastrointestinal bleeding, as in ulcerative colitis. According to Dr. Sharol Tilgner, a naturopathic physician and author of "Herbal Medicine from the Heart of the Earth," geranium contains gallic acid, tannic acid, gum, pectin, starch and resin. The tannin content is responsible for alleviating bleeding, and it's highest in the roots before flowering. To ensure high tannin content, obtain geranium from a high-quality source. Geranium may be taken as a tea, liquid extract or capsule.

Castor Oil Pack

F) SOME CLOSING THOUGHTS

Once more normal stools became a daily occurrence, we began to phase out the anti-biotic and the Prednisone. Instead of killing off bacteria and shutting down the immune system, our focus was to build up the good bacteria (probiotics) with acidophilus and strengthen his own body’s immunity

We were extremely grateful to the hospital, doctors, nurses and medicines indluding anti-biotics and Prednisone for their help in managing the initial acute phases of ulcerative colitis.

However, we maintained a different attitude from the hospital regarding the body’s ability to heal itself and options beyond surgery and medication.

We continued to imagine a healthy body and take each day as an opportunity to support that healthy body. We also placed castor oil (Palma Christi) packs on his stomach several times – see separate section on Castor Oil at the end of this page …

We were told if we did not proceed with the surgery, that Remicaid (Infliximab) infusions by drip (overall about a 4 hour event each infusion) were the only choice going forward. The blood was given albumin boosters in advance to be able to take in or ‘carry’ more Remicaid. In effect, the treatment was meant to shut down the immune system.

Initially, we tried two sessions on a Remicade drip. But shutting down the immune system chemically and leaving an already compromised body susceptible to other infections for life, was contrary to what we were doing in building his immunity back up. Shutting everything off to prevent the possibility of inflammation seemed extreme. We made a choice to discontinue. We were warned that ‘remissions’ gave false hope, and that we were mistaken in getting our hopes up since actual recovery was virtually impossible.

But we continued with positive thoughts and our Supplement Treatment plan anyway, and visited with Dr. Nowazek several times. We strongly envisioned his healthy body.

There has been a complete recovery.

There is no sign whatsoever of ulcerative colitis. It has been over 8 years now since a complete return to full health and vitality.

Maintaining a PH neutral diet, avoiding all sugar and unnecessary carbs (that feed bacteria), and avoiding poor quality dairy products (that create mucous)… these are crucial steps, especially in the early stages. Gluten on its own was not so much an issue, but many of the grains that have been genetically modified and subjected to extensive pesticides create stomach upset and possibly initiated an auto-immune response. Each person is different. In our situation grains needed to be avoided, especially wheat in particular (though wheat was fine in European countries, just not in Canada or the U.S.)

Periodic daily diatomaceous earth (one tablespoon stirred into a 1/4 glass water) has also been excellent in maintaining a clean colon and eliminating bacteria (see earlier discussion under ‘Products’.

Wishing you all the best in your research and the recovery of your family member from the debilitating symptoms he or she has been experiencing. I believe this condition can be cured because I have seen it. Every person is different, and each person will have a unique set of circumstances and factors. I wanted to share this example from first-hand experience to offer understanding and support.

G) CASTOR OIL INFORMATION AND PACKS

From the internet:  PALMA CHRISTI - Either of two plants with palmately lobed leaves: †(a) an unidentified medicinal herb, perhaps cut-leaved dead-nettle, Lamium hybridum (obsolete); (b) the castor oil plant, Ricinus communis.

OriginLate Middle English; earliest use found in Practica Phisicalia John of Burgundy. From post-classical Latin palma Christi castor oil plant, also gromwell, species of orchid (1583 in a translation of Dodoens, from 1597 in British sources), lit. ‘palm or hand of Christ’, from the palmate shape of the leaves or tubers from classical Latin palma + Christī, genitive of Christus.

Castor Oil Pack - Instructions

Soak cotton gauze or flannel (but must be fully cotton) in cold pressed castor oil, place over injured or infected area, cover in plastic wrap (cling film) and use heating pad or hot water bottle as desired to allow the oil to penetrate the skin. The pack can be kept on all night, or used for several hours, then removed again.

Castor Oil breaks up external and internal scar tissue, and prevents new scars from forming

Castor oil’s unrivalled deep tissue penetration help to soften and remove both external and internal scars, like those that form following surgery.

Castor oil will penetrate deep into the tissues to slowly break up scar tissue. Amazingly, castor oil is able to distinguish between healthy cells and abnormal ones. In healthy cells, castor oil will detoxify and stimulate them, while increasing circulation. In abnormal cells like scar tissue and growths, castor oil will instead work to aggressively dissolve cells thanks to the solvent property of castor oil.

To break down internal scarring, soak a piece of clean cloth with castor oil and place it over the scar area for an hour or two each day. You can also simply rub castor oil over the scar each day. More serious internal scarring will take longer to break down.

On another note, castor oil can also prevent scars from forming in the first place. Applying castor oil over cuts or scrapes will promote excellent skin healing.

Remarkably, applying castor oil after surgery, cuts or wounds will also minimize scar formation. This could be because of castor oil’s ability to increase our body’s lymphocytes (because of this, castor oil packs are especially useful for people with HIV or AIDS). Lymphocytes, or white blood cells, appear to regulate wound healing. And studies have shown that T lymphocytes may play an important role in wound healing and scar formation. Babies and young children have naturally higher levels of lymphocytes than teenagers and adults, which could be one of the reasons why our skin healed with much less scarring when we were younger.

You can find loads of information on the internet about the healing quality of this amazing oil (which my family has successfully used for many different issues).

Maybe this will be of interest and benefit to you in your healing process. Best wishes to you and your family….

CASTOR PACK:

Video here showing how to make a castor pack: https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2016/10/01/castor-oil-uses.aspx

- Prepare bed with a plastic sheet and towel over top to prevent messing the bed.

- Place oil-soaked flannel over area of concern.

(Oil can be poured onto a flannel piece in a dish in advance. Squeeze out extra oil. Should be saturated but not dripping. Oil can also be warmed first in oven in baking dish on low, or heating pad can be used overtop and the heating can occur after. Microwaving will damage properties of this oil.)

- Cover in plastic

- Put heating pad (or hot water bottle) overtop on low

- Put towel around and attach with pins to keep in place.

- Keep on for one-two hours.

Do this for 3 days, then off for 3 days. Then back on etc. Establish a cycle.

It is recommended to eat 1-2 teaspoons of organic cold-pressed olive oil each night, and 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil after the third session to help with eliminating the toxins that have been released from the castor oil pack.

Later, you can wash skin with baking soda and water mixture.

Store oil-soaked pad in a glass jar for use later.
